Zoning Updates

Updates will be provided on recent zoning matters, including proposed developments at 340 Hermitage Street and 4549 Silverwood Street. The latest plans of the Philadelphia Folk Song Society for their new home here in Roxborough will also be discussed.

Parking Committee

The CRCA Parking Committee held its second listening session on Saturday, November 11th. We appreciate those who turned out and provided their thoughts and ideas on parking issues. A number of great suggestions were made and now it's time to plan our next steps. Come out to hear what the committee is doing with the information it's been gathering and to share any observations or recurrent problems.

Please see the Summary of Parking Issue Workshops

Rain Check Workshop

The Philadelphia Water Department's Green City, Clean Waters initiative is Philadelphia's plan to reduce stormwater pollution currently entering our Combined Sewer System through the use of green infrastructure. Joanne Dahme, General Manager of Public Affairs at PWD, will lead a Rain Check workshop to help homeowners learn how they can make a difference for the environment.

PWD provides free or discounted stormwater management tools to make properties greener and more beautiful while also managing rainfall and improving the health of our Schuylkill and Wissahickon watersheds. To learn more, visit http://www.phillywatersheds.org.

Other Discussion Items

  • Protection of Steep Slopes
  • Status of Ridge Ave Demolition Moratorium

CRCA Officer Nominations

Roxborough Neighborhood Conservation Overlay Signed by Mayor!

The Central Roxborough Neighborhood Conservation Overlay has been passed by City Council. On December 11, 2014, Special Assistant to the Majority Leader, Josh Cohen notified us that "The NCO just received final passage unanimously by the entire council." Mayor Nutter signed the bill on 12/19.

The Central Roxborough NCO is intended to protect the existing walkable character of Central Roxborough. Thanks to all those who put in many, many hours of work to make this happen.
