3rd and final public meeting will be held by the Philadelphia Planning Commission Sept. 18, 2014 at the Manayunk Brew Pub, 5-8 p.m.

October 18th, there will be a yard tree giveaway in Gorgas Park. Order forms available on line.

Charlie Kline, 5th District Community Relations officer. Thefts from autos, still an issue, particularly in the Bells Mill area. The college kids are Baaack! Hero Thrill show- tickets available. Raises money for scholarships of children whose parent(s) have been killed in the line of duty. An audience member reported that a car sideswiped his family while they were walking. The driver stopped, police were called, but the driver did not get a ticket.

Josh Cohen, assistant to Councilman Curtis Jones Jr., is available at the office at 5462 Ridge Avenue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. 215-685-2547

Water Department Project will start this week. PennDOT will replace pipes and repave.

Homestead exemption deadline is next week.

Roxborough Dog Park met with Redevelopment Authority today. RDA agreed to lease the property to RDP. The RDP has 90 members.

Concern at 4300 block Fleming St. Road is buckling.

5901 Ridge Ave. /aka Wendy’s Philadelphia Common Pleas court reversed the Philadelphia Zoning Board decision. This is a typical occurrence. CRCA will be appealing this decision to PA Commonowealth Court. Costs will be incurred. Donations to defray these costs are welcome.

Friends of Gorgas Park received a $50K grant for stormwater management in the Schuylkill River watershed. Currently the park has no plan and has steep slopes, erosion, compacted soil Suggestions for improvements include bio swales to slow and filter rain water, slope stabilization(boulders), infiltration berm, tree planting and side walk bump outs. Pourous pavement along Ridge Ave.

Neighbor who lives across from Acme reports that the parking lot “cleaning service” uses a leaf blower to blow that trash into the street which then blows across the street.

James Calamia is the new RDC Executive Director.

365 Green Lane price drop. $329K, no demo permit yet. Current zoning states you can not demo until there is a plan for redevelopment. The property was just submitted for historical designation.
